So what did the "children escaping from triangle" sign actually mean?
I, too, have seen the exploding children sign. I don't know what it means.

It meant there was a school around... apparently...
My favorite is the black hole sign. Nice of them to let you know when something with an excessively strong gravitational field is comming up.
